“No matter where you’re from, everyone’s local!”
“I had no idea there was so much going on”
North Guildford Food Bank
The North Guildford Food Bank has been set up to provide temporary help for individuals and families in the Guildford area who are in need. Working alongside local agencies, churches, and community, we want to ensure that no-one goes hungry. We receive non-perishable food from local churches, schools and businesses to make food parcels. These parcels are given in exchange for a food voucher granted by various agencies including: Citizens Advice Bureau, Social Services, health visitors, Christians Against Poverty, children’s centres, Guildford Action for Families, Guildford Borough Council’s family support team and its community wardens, local schools, many Guildford churches, doctors’ surgeries, Vaughan House, Probation Service, CAMHS, Youth Support Services, Age UK Surrey. The North Guildford Foodbank also has branches in Bellfields and Merrow. Please note: evidence of the crisis may be requested. The Food Bank is open at the same time as The Café at St Clare’s Church.
Also, there is now wi fi at St Clare’s Church and three laptop computers for anyone to use for applying for benefits, searching for jobs, looking up training courses and so on. There is help and support for people when using the computers, while documents and pages can be printed out. The computers cannot be used for gaming or social networking. If you are interested in helping in any way please call the number below.
