Voluntary Action South West Surrey (VASWS) had a stand at the Let’s Get Moving fun day in Tongham on Sunday, May 22, and say it was a great success.
Caroline Keith, who co-ordinates volunteer development for VASWS, said: “It was a really successful day. We chatted to lots of people and gave out quite a few Joining In! booklets. And even the sun came out!
The event was hosted and organised by Guildford Borough Council’s community wardens’ team for Ash, Ash Vale and Tongham. Visitors could find out about local opportunities available to maintain physical and mental health.
There were fun activities for all ages to try with a number of local groups and organisations on hand giving help and advice.
“I feel we are very fortunate living in Ash as there are many opportunities for people to get involved, make friends, learn new skills and be a part of the community we live in.
I hope you find something that interests you.”
