“I feel we are very fortunate living in Ash as there are many opportunities for people to get involved, make friends, learn new skills and be a part of the community we live in.
I hope you find something that interests you.”
Pauline Baxter, a local Ash volunteer
The Walking Club
The Walking Club is a voluntary association offering regular free guided walks from a number of venues in and around the Blackwater Valley, including two weekly walks in Guildford borough (Ash) and a monthly and a twice monthly walk in Surrey Heath (Old Dean and Mytchett).
Our walks provide regular gentle exercise, an opportunity to socialise and make new friends, and a chance to get out into the fresh air and countryside locally in the safety of a group of people.
Walk leaders are trained, insured and familiar with local walk routes so there is no fear of getting lost!
These are gentle walks of between one hour and 90 minutes – we don’t aim to compete with the day-long walks offered by other walking groups.
There is no membership fee and no charge for individual walks. (We’ll only ask you to contribute if we arrange transport for a special walk).
