“I feel we are very fortunate living in Ash as there are many opportunities for people to get involved, make friends, learn new skills and be a part of the community we live in.
I hope you find something that interests you.”

Men in Sheds
Join our shed!
For men who like making and repairing stuff, trying out new skills or just enjoy a bit of company, and especially if you have too much spare time!
The original ‘Men in Sheds’ idea came from Australia; in the UK the first shed was created in Cheshire with the support of a lottery grant and has spread since then with about 30 sheds of which about a third are run by AgeUK.
Age UK Surrey is building on this success and has opened in Ash.
It welcomes men of all skill levels from beginners to more experienced who like making and repairing stuff, trying out new skills or sharing their skills and experience with others. You might just like to come along for a bit of company with plenty of tea drinking and chat. There is also a pleasant cafeteria at the centre for snacks and lunches.
We have a well equipped workshop and activities start with woodwork but will later expand to offer other activities such as gardening, photography and computers, or anything else that ‘shedders’ would like to do.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Next to the Shawfield Road Day Centre in its former mini-bus garage which has now been converted to a workshop.
